WLS afternoon host Roe Conn could get a partner – Cisco Cotto
Salem’s WIND (560) has the right to match it, but Citadel talker WLS (890) has made an offer to Cotto to team up with Roe Conn in PM drive. Cotto is currently partnered with Big John Howell at WIND, but Robert Feder (at Vocalo.org) says “Cotto was seen removing some of his belongings from WIND late Thursday” and that he “could join Conn’s show by January 4.” Conn himself is expected to sign a new two-year deal for less than the seven-figure contract he’s under now. Signing Cotto would suggest that Citadel’s interested in keeping familiar voice Roe Conn, but strengthening the show now that the Arbitron PPM is measuring the market on a daily basis. Cotto worked at WLS from 2000-2006 as a news anchor and reporter before taking the offer to co-host mornings with Big John on crosstown WIND.
