WLW, Cincinnati host Bill Cunningham's TV show is going through changes
Those who were a part of the pilot shows for the proposed "Big Willie" TV talk show hosted by Bill Cunningham may not recognize the finished product. The show will now be less "Jerry Springer" and more "Phil Donohue," meaning less "strippers" and more "issues." The show's logistics will also be changing, with the broadcasts taped at the NEP Penn Studios in Midtown Manhattan in New York City, rather than in Stamford, Connecticut, to draw in a larger audience. In addition, while he's doing the show from New York, Cunningham will continue to host his show on Clear Channel's WLW-AM (700) by working from the Clear Channel radio studios in New York City, just blocks from where his TV show will be taped. When Cunningham's show launches, it will be carried by Tribune, reaching 9 of the 10 top TV markets with 23 stations clearing the show. Cincinnati.com's John Kiesewetter has more details here.Previous and Next Stories
