WLW, Cincinnati talkhosts Bill Cunningham and Mike McConnell may be leaving – for Tribune

Cunningham tells the Cincinnati Enquirer “Don’t make me talk about this. All I can say is that I work for WLW for now…I can’t talk about it. I’m going to get into trouble.” The paper’s John Kiesewetter says the rumors are that “both Cunningham and McConnell have decided to leave The Big One after more than 25 years each at the station.” Cunningham’s doing a daytime TV pilot for Tribune titled “Big Willie”, though two weeks ago he said he'd continue his radio show at talk “Big One” WLW, to “keep my day job.” His contract is up soon. Cunningham does noon-3pm on WLW, while Mike McConnell does late mornings. Dozens of former Clear Channel and/or Jacor staffers have joined onetime Clear Channel/Jacor leader Randy Michaels at Tribune, including President of Programming Sean Compton. He’s worked with both Cunningham (rumored to be playing some future role at Tribune’s WGN Radio) and McConnell.
