WMAD Madison, Wis., Names New Hires And Staff Promotions
Country WMAD (96.3 Star Country) Madison, Wis., has paired Tracy Dixon and Mike Heller for mornings. The new show debuts Aug. 22. Dixon spent the last 12 years on wake up duty at KMFX (102.5 the Fox) Rochester, Minn. Heller hosts an afternoon sports talk show on sister station WTSO (1070), and will continue in those duties. They replace former morning team John Flint and Tammy Lee, who joined country KSON San Diego for mornings in early July. In addition, WMAD promotes evening host Abby Zellmer to MD and hires former WRIT Milwaukee p.m. driver Brian O’Neil for middays and promotions director duties. Former WMAD APD/MD/midday host and morning show executive producer Steph Peters also left for KSON, where she is now morning show executive producer. O'Neil's first day on the air is Aug. 1. Finally, Mike Conway joins as online content director for WMAD and the other five Madison Clear Channel stations. Conway will leave his current position as Clear Channel Milwaukee director of traffic operation on July 29, and will start his new duties August 1.
