WOLT Greenville/Spartanburg, SC adds a test "Spin" to nights, overnights
See an explanation about CHR "Spin" by Joe Delfin of JamTraxx Media on the South Carolina Board of Radio-Info.com - here.Davidson Media Group’s brokered WOLT (103.3), serving Greenville/Spartanburg, S.C., has begun airing CHR “Spin-FM” from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. weekdays, weekend overnights and a sprinkling during middays. The playlist is provided by Jamtraxx Media out of Chicago in a "joint venture" according to Joe Delfin, President/CEO of JamTraxx. Delfin explains that "this soft launch is a testbed for other markets. We are trying to gauge what works and what doesn't." JamTraxx is not buying the time, he says, and Davidson is honoring its contracts with existing time brokers. Delfin says the station owner is "just exploring new programming avenues and revenue streams with us, and we are happy to help them...We've been wanting to try this out for a long time, and we are fortunate to be able to work with great partners in a Top 60 radio market." Overall, the station remains branded as “Carolina's Classic 103.3 WOLT,” with "Awake with Bill Drake" in mornings and Skip Church 9am-1pm. The Radio-Info.com discussion board is buzzing big time over this one. Take part on the South Carolina forum here.
