WTAM, Cleveland's Jim Traficant may be exiting radio sooner than planned
He’s a former Ohio Congressman convicted of of taking bribes, filing false tax returns, and racketeering. Following a prison term, Jim Trafficant landed a weekend talk show on WTAM-AM (1100) However, that job may not last long, as the Akron Beacon Journal says Traficant is considering another run for political office. At an event in Akron, Traficant told the crowd he considering a run for Congress this year. He'd have to file by February 18 for the May primary in the 6th or 17th district, both held by Democrats. By law (equal time) he would have to give up his talk show on WTAM, and even though he is a convicted felon, there is no law that says he cannot run for political office, including Congress.
