Adult Top 40 and Top 40 for Adults
A new programming tool for AC, Hot AC, and Mainstream Top 40 stations that target adults.
The Softest Songs On AC Radio
A few weeks ago, we sought out the hardest-rocking songs at Mainstream AC, a format whose always-brightening feel and increasing emphasis on the '80s is allowing even Frankie Goes To Hollywood's "Relax" and Loverboy's "Lovin' Every Minute Of It" to play on some stations' all-'80s weekends. Morning-after pills are in vending machines. A convenience store has your back, pal. And only one station dares acknowledge “Groundhog Day” twice. It’s “Radio’s Best & Worst.”

So it seemed like a good time for a Fresh Listen to 89X and Top 40 CFLZ (Z101) Buffalo, N.Y., as well as take a look at the current availability of Cancon.

MDNA: 53 Is The New 42
With Madonna poised for a sales and airplay come back with “Give Me All Your Luvin’,” a reader asks, “How many other 53-year-olds have gotten airplay on CHR radio the way Madonna’s new single looks to be tracking to get?” The answer is that it has happened before—but not very often. And even some of the artists that we think of as particularly enduring started to hit a brick wall at Top 40 in their early 40s. So clearly 53 is the new 42.

Madonna’s performance was “most-watched Super Bowl entertainment ever”
Madonna may not have rolled around the Super Bowl XLVI stage in a wedding dress, a la the 1984 MTV Video Awards, but she was still belle of the ball during Sunday’s match between the New York Giants and New England Patriots.
