Carolwood Records Shuts Down; Staff And Artists Merge With Lyric Street
The Walt Disney Company-owned country label Carolwood Records has been shuttered after about a year of operation. The move resulted in three job losses, and some restructuring at sister label Lyric Street Records.
Most of the changes come in the promotion departments of the two labels. Carolwood’s senior directors of promotion John Ettinger and Chris Palmer shift over to Lyric Street, bolstering that label’s already fully-staffed promotion department. Ettinger takes on the new title of senior national director, and will lead the label’s regional staff, which includes Palmer, Renee Leymon, Neda Tobin, Theresa Ford, Michelle Tyrrell and Kris Lamb. Ettinger continues to report to VP of promotion Kevin Herring.
Dale Turner, VP of promotional marketing, will continue in his current role, also reporting to Herring, and supported by coordinator Landon Morgan.
Carolwood regionals Dave Collins (West), Trudie Richardson Daniell (SE/SW), and Stephanie Keshe (East) have exited the label. They can be reached at the following numbers: Collins (480) 223-8337, Daniell (770) 843-2858, and Keshe (615) 418-3519.
Carolwood promotion coordinator, Katie McCartney will segue to the sales/marketing department, while current Lyric Street promotion coordinator Jackie Schwarz will continue in that role.
The label has also consolidated its artist roster, moving Carolwood acts Trent Tomlinson (pictured) and Love and Theft to Lyric Street. The roster also includes multi-platinum group Rascal Flatts, plus SHeDAISY, Bucky Covington, Sarah Buxton and new and developing artists, Ruby Summer, Tyler Dickerson, Kevin Fowler and the Parks. Josh Gracin and Jessica Andrews are no longer part of the roster.
