CMT Has Gretchen Wilson ‘Reality’ Show Under Consideration
CMT is consumer testing a pilot for a quasi-reality show, “Gretchen,” centered around Gretchen Wilson and her various family members and staff. The cast of the 30-minute show includes Wilson’s manager, Greg Oswald, along with her daughter Grace, Uncle Verne (and his dog), Aunt Vickie and brother Josh. Wilson and Oswald are among the show’s executive producers.
The pilot episode includes a photo shoot for a single cover staged at an Olan Mills storefront studio, a demolition derby which had a date with Wilson as the grand prize for the winner, delivery of a tanning bed to Wilson’s ranch (including an attempt at wacky hilarity when Verne is shown using the device to cook turkeys), and footage from one tour stop in North Carolina, including some tour bus shots.
