Donna Hughes Joins The Capitol/EMI Promotion Team
Country radio and television veteran Donna Hughes has joined Capitol/EMI Records Nashville as national director/radio syndication. In her new role, Hughes’ responsibilities will include spearheading national syndication, major contests/special events as well as coordinating and packaging artist's special audio/video content for release to radio for Capitol/EMI Nashville artists Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Walker Hayes, Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Jennette McCurdy, Troy Olsen, Jon Pardi, Eric Paslay, Roy D. Mercer, Kenny Rogers, Darius Rucker, Keith Urban and Tim Wilson. She will report to senior VP of promotion Steve Hodges.Hughes has been in the business for 23 years. Since March, she has been working with Envision Radio Networks' AmeriCountry show prep service, where she produced "Nashville 60," a daily audio entertainment update. Before that, she was executive producer of the now cancelled nationally syndicated radio program "GAC Nights: Live From Nashville," senior producer for Premiere Radio Networks and talent booker for the "Jeff Foxworthy Countdown." She has also been news director, producer and co-host of morning show "Rick and Rice" on Nashville's Rockin' Country 102.9, and a talent coordinator/booker for "Crook and Chase" and "Music City Tonight." She also has worked as a freelance writer and producer. In 2006, Hughes received the prestigious CMA Media Achievement Award. She is the only syndicated radio person to earn this award.
