• Broken Bow Records has signed Kansas native James Wesley to its artist roster. His debut single, Jackson Hole,” has been shipped to radio and has an impact date of Dec. 7. The song was written by Rodney Clawson and Monty Criswell.
• “My Best Days Are Ahead of Me” is the title of the debut CD from American Idol finalist Danny Gokey (pictured), who was recently signed to 19 Recordings/RCA Nashville. It will arrive at country radio in the next few days. The digital single will be available for purchase Dec. 22, but fans can hear it immediately at dannygokey.com. • Phil Vassar will release his next studio album, “Traveling Circus,” Dec. 15. That’s bumped up from the originally scheduled release date of Feb. 2010. Vassar produced the album himself and brought in his road band to play on it in the studio.
• Wynonna Judd will perform on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” Nov. 24. Winfrey teamed up with People magazine to host a private celebration on the Fort Bragg military base to welcome home the 82nd Airborne Division, 3rd Brigade Combat Team returning from Iraq. As part of the celebration, Wynonna and the Palmetto State Quartet gave a surprise welcome home performance, saluting the troops and their families.
• The Oak Ridge Boys will kick off their 20th annual Christmas tour, “The Boys Are Back for Christmas” tour, which will take the group to 14 states in 34 days, beginning November 23 and running through December 22.
