Nashville Music and Arts Community Launches Charity ReTune Nashville
Nashville photographer Sheri ONeal and members of the music and art community have launched ReTune Nashville, a non-profit organization offering relief to uninsured musicians in the industry through the sale of artwork created from flood damaged musical instruments.
The ability of ReTune Nashville to actively support the music community rests on the acquisition of materials needed to bring the artwork to life. To that end, the group is looking for donations from musicians of gear that is no longer playable. They’re also on the hunt art supplies as well as for artists to create works of art from the discarded instruments.
ReTune Nashville is planning a music, art and live auction event, tentatively set for early fall 2010. Proceeds from the sale of artwork will directly benefit uninsured musicians through MusiCares Nashville Flood Relief and the Nashville Musicians Association Flood Relief Fund.
