USRN Adds Tony & Kris Morning Show To Its Country Offerings
United Stations Radio Networks (USRN), has picked up the Nashville-based, “Tony & Kris In The Morning Show,” and will handle marketing to both radio affiliates and national advertisers. The hosts, Tony Randall and Kris Rochester, previously had been self-syndicating the country show via their Tony & Kris Productions, LLC, in partnership with Cumulus Broadcasting, which supplied the majority of their eight current affiliates. The show launched in November 2009.
Going into the deal with USRN, their only non-Cumulus affiliate is Access 1 Communications’ KYKX Tyler/Longview, Texas. That station came on board in March. The show’s other current affiliates are WWFF Huntsville, Ala., KAYD Beaumont, Texas; KTOP Topeka, Kan.; WKAK Albany, Ga.; WKOR Columbus/Starkville, Miss.; WLXX Lexington, Ky.; and WPCK Green Bay, Wis.
Randall and Rochester are radio veterans who have worked together since 1991. They are best known for their 10-year stint in mornings at KSON San Diego where they won an Academy of Country Music Award for major market broadcast personalities of the year. They later spent five years at crosstown rival KUSS before starting their own company.
USRN’s other country offerings includes short-form shows “The Country’s HotList with Shawn Parr,” “The Road,” “Thunder Road,” “Country Giants,” “25 Years of Hits” and comedy and morning show prep services for the country format.
