Six Country Broadcasters To Join Hall Of Fame

WIVK Knoxville, Tenn., director of operations Mike Hammond and WPOC Baltimore morning host Laurie DeYoung (pictured) are among those being honored by the trade group Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc., with 2010 inductions into, respectively, the Country Radio Hall of Fame and the Country Music DJ Hall of Fame. Joining Hammond in the Radio Hall of Fame are the late country radio pioneer Cy Blumenthal and RadioTime president Dan Halyburton. Joining DeYoung in the DJ Hall of Fame are Texas radio veteran Bill Bailey and KEAN Abilene, Texas, PD/air personality Rudy Fernandez. All six broadcasters will be formally inducted during a dinner at the Nashville Convention Center Feb. 23, 2010. For more on this story and the inductees, see the full story in the country section.
