BBC Radio Six mid-morning host George Lamb is moving to weekends from weekdays. Lauren Laverne is taking over his 10am weekday slot … Satellite channel Panjab Radio, which broadcasts in Panjabi and English, will go national on DAB digital radio starting next month … Former Metro Radio DJ Mark Thorburn, suspended after inappropriate messages he sent were leaked to the media, joins Star Radio as a weekend DJ … Both UKRD & The Local Radio Company have resigned their RadioCentre membership in protest of the proposed national digital switchover review date of 2013 and subsequent switchover date of 2015 … BBC Radio 4 will continue to keep the character of Phil Archer in their radio soap, “The Archers” through Christmas. Norman Painting, who played Phil Archer, passed away last week at age 85.
