The linchpin will be Rush Limbaugh, which Clear Channel-owned Premiere Radio is pulling off of Curtis Media’s WSJS (600) and making available to WGBT (94.5). The FM will be branded as “Rush Radio”, according to WXII-TV, featuring Premiere stablemates Glenn Beck (9am-noon) and Sean Hannity (3pm-6pm). Hannity won’t be available until mid-2010. Last week, Curtis Media announced that Premiere wasn’t willing to renew Limbaugh on its stations in either Raleigh (WPTF at 680) and Greensboro (WSJS and its two simulcast partners). Curtis now plans to put on a local show in Limbaugh’s noon-3pm position, after he’s gone in December. Clear Channel’s “Rush Radio” debuts January 1, ending the three-year-plus run of Spanish classic hits “La Preciosa” WGBT, Eden, NC at 94.5.
